Concordia Lutheran Church was founded in 1951 by the Rev. Dr. Guido Merkens with 34 charter members.  From the very beginning, Concordia’s purpose and mission was clear: to reach the lost and to disciple those who are found. Dr. Merkens spared no effort and considered every idea to share the hope of the gospel with everyone.  Such an entrepreneurial commitment to witness remains among Concordia’s members today, now over 8,600 strong.

Nominations for the 2020 Guido Merkens Award are now being accepted. Simply fill out the form below to submit your nomination. This award will be presented at the 2020 Best Practices for Ministry Conference at Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix Feb. 20 - 22.
